Volunteer Activities

Recruiting banner and tablePAWS volunteers assist Ferris State with many functions, including Career-Focused Programming, College Fairs, High School Visits, and New Student Receptions.

Career-Focused Programming

Volunteers meet with prospective students to discuss various career paths.  They also visit campus to meet with current students, giving valuable information to them as they transition from campus to career.

College Fairs

College Fairs provide an opportunity for high school students and their parents to visit with representatives from many colleges and universities. Students and parents ask questions about programs, admission requirements, campus life, and more.  Fairs are held during the day or evening at a high school or college. Michigan PAWS volunteers will be paired with a Ferris State Recruiting Officer to attend Michigan College Fairs. Out-of-state PAWS volunteers will be trained to attend select out-of-state college fairs independently.  PAWS volunteers answer student/parent questions and will distribute FSU recruiting material.

High School Visits

PAWS volunteers may visit high schools in their local areas to share information about Ferris State with high school students.

New Student Receptions

PAWS will help FSU welcome new students at the New Student Receptions held in February and March in select locations in Michigan.
